FRESHMAN​

Considering my past experiences, I made the most difficult and life-changing decision in my life which was to choose the university and study abroad. I am an international student who came from India to US. When I investigate the rest of my undergraduate experience, I see myself more passionate about knowing new things around me, taking different challenges and solving them effectively by using the effective skills. For me, “Global citizen scholar” is an all-rounder student who is ready to explore things globally and then putting efforts to come out of the comfort zone by feeling confident in every stage. These efforts will help to understand the world’s complex problems. It will then help to brainstorm and find the most effective solution which will not only help me but everyone globally.

A global mind works for everyone. Global Citizen Scholar is one who is ready to have different experiences in different life phases. Experiences can be full of challenges and difficulties. In this scenario, a Global Citizen Scholar will have a firm believe in himself/herself and go through every hurdle. ​ Becoming a pilot is my dream. Seeing airplanes in the sky and spacecraft launches excite me think how the Wright-brothers invented the first airplane. Since the first sustained piloted flight in 1903, science and technology of manned flight has grown exponentially. The act of deriving formulae and applying the phenomenon of Physics is something I enjoy the most. Along with this, creating new things in an artistic manner with applied Physics helped me to finalize taking up a career in Aerospace Engineering. Whenever I see any electronic device, I am least interested in its outward appearance but more interested in knowing tat how the human brain made such a fascinating useful device. From the smallest Personal Computer-Micro Note to the largest Spacecraft, engineering has played a vital role and I really appreciate the human brain behind it. ​ Since childhood, to spend my time constructively I started involving myself in different activities like Poetry-Writing, Painting, Dance, Social Services, and Sports (like Swimming and Basketball) which made me an all-rounder girl. I still do all these activities in college life. In addition, I got involved in Photography, and different organizations, like UC Rotaract (as a Marketing Director), CEAS Tribunal. I will continue to maintain the status of an all-rounder girl which is playing a big role in Global Citizen Scholar. It’s important to control our actions. Because we cannot be lost always. To progress in my journey, I need to focus on small-small goals targeting big goals, like following time management chart, completing assignments on time, concentrating and living in present; which will automatically push my GPA up and I will be able to become an Aerospace Engineer. ​ I firmly believe that University Honors Program is the best opportunity to explore more and have lots of experiences in college-life as well. Honors experiences keep records highlighting how the students have achieved different set goals by going out of their comfort zones and polishing their skills.
